WAITING GAME

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has said that he is not ready to commit to the German club at least until the end of the season. The former Chelsea winger has been one of the best players for Bayern Munich over the last couple of seasons ever since joining from Real Madrid in a £ 24 million deal.

Due to this importance to the team, the club are interested in securing the signing of Arjen Robben for a longer term. The 28-year-old, however, has declined the opportunity to sign a new contract now, as he is more concentrated on achieving a successful season with Bayern Munich now.

Robben has come under criticism from the media and the former Bayern Munich players for his selfish attitude in front of goal, which has led to speculation that the winger will be looking for a move in the January transfer window. However, the Dutchman decided to stay at the Allianz arena after there was a lack of interest from the top clubs.

It is thought that Italian club Juventus are now interested in signing the winger in the summer, which has led to speculation that Bayern Munich will soon offer a renewed contract for the Dutchman, although he is more likely to reject it.

“It’s all a bit premature. It’s correct that we will have another meeting, but I won’t sign a new deal on that occasion just yet. I do have the intention to stay at the club, though. I am feeling very well here. We’ll see what happens,” Robben told Betfair Online ahead of the meeting with Real Madrid in the semifinals of the Champions League.

Robben did not take part in the second leg of quarter-final match against Marseille, which Bayern Munich won comfortably 2-0. Now, they will be facing Spanish opponent in the semifinals. The latest Betfair football odds make Bayern firm favourites.
