BACK TO HIS BEST

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben has said that he feels that he is getting back to his best with the German club Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old is regarded as one of the best wingers, but his form with the German club has dipped of recent times. Even though he helped the club get to the Champions League final in 2012, he was unable to prevent them from losing the final. Robben also missed a crucial penalty that would have given the team the victory, while the Dutchman was also guilty of not taking his chances in the 2010 World Cup final.

After a few seasons of not being at his best, Robben has been one of the impressive players for the Bayern Munich team this season. Bayern Munich have been able to dominate the German league, while also qualifying for the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League as well. Robben has not been part of the team since suffering an injury in November. He has only recently returned to the first-team action, but Bayern Munich are currently in Middle East for the training camp. Robben has said that cannot wait to start his competitive match for the club once again.

“I don’t really want to say too much about that. Of course it’s something I think about. I was injured a lot during the first half of the season which was a shame and obviously really disappointing, but now I’m back. I feel like I’m getting back to my previous best and you could see that at times today. I think the people here know what I’m capable of so I don’t have any fear at all. I always expect to start,” said the 28-year-old, who has played an influential role in the friendly matches for the team so far.
