El-Arabi was responsible for the lone goal as his Olympiacosside won away at Arsenal for the second successive season in the Europa League.

Olympiacosbeat the Gunners 1-0 away from home in the second leg of their last 16 tie but it was not enough to see the Greek giants secure a place in the quarterfinals ahead of Arsenal.

Much of the damage was done in the first leg in Athens when the Gunners won 3-1 away from home with the likes of Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Magalhaes and second half substitute Mohamed ElNeny getting the goals for the North Londoners, while the aforementioned El-Arabi got the only goal for the hosts.

Arsenal secured a spot in the final eight of the Europa League this season after a 3-2 aggregate victory over the two legs played this month.

El-Arabi scored in the two games to add to the heartbreaking goal that he scored at the Emirates Stadium last season to eliminate Arsenal from the same competition via the away goals.

Moroccan international El-Arabi has now scored in three straight games against Arsenal in European competitions to become only the fourth player to achieve the feat after Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi.

ArjenRobben was a Bayern Munich player when he scored against the Gunners in three consecutive matches in the UEFA Champions League.

The Dutchman is now back at boyhood club Groningen in the Netherlands though he has not played much this season because of injury. Arjen Robben had to come out of retirement to sign for Groningen.

For El-Arabi, the Moroccan international is the leading goalscorer at Olympiacos this season with 23 goals in all competitions. He has 19 goals in 24 league outings.
