INJURY MAY HELP

Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has said that the injury to Toni Kroos may help him from now until the end of the season. Robben was signed from Real Madrid a few years ago for £ 24 million. He has been one of the important members of the team until now. Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has been preferring Thomas Müller to Arjen Robben this season. As a result, he has spent majority of the season on the sidelines. There have been several rumours that Robben may leave the club at the end of the season.

Recently, he stated that he was not happy with the lack of regular first team action. German international Toni Kroos has proved over the years that he is extremely influential and important for the team. He plays in a midfield role that improves the team by supporting both attack and defence. He was recently injured in the 2-0 win over Juventus. The crucial win in the Champions League quarter-finals helped the team progress into the semifinals where they will be facing Barcelona. Now that Kroos is injured, Robben is hoping to feature in the first-team more often than not.

He has said that the team should play to their limit in order to defeat Barcelona in the semifinals.

“It does not look so good for Kroos, but then that is better for me. It happens in football. I was sick that I had to start on the bench. On Saturday I played a great game (in the 9-2 victory over Hamburg) and I wanted to continue that form, but the coach decided otherwise. I ended up playing tonight so I have to be happy. Of course it is far from over, but we have made a great step towards the semi-finals,” said the former Chelsea winger.
