ARJEN ROBBEN REACTS TO RUMORS LINKING HARRY KANE TO BAYERN MUNICH

Speaking to BILD (h/t Fabrizio Romano), Bayern Munich chairman Arjen Robben has responded to rumours that the German champions are planning to sign Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane next year. Bayern Munich have lost Robert Lewandowski after agreeing to sell him to Barcelona last week in a deal worth up to €50 million. It has left a huge void in the attacking unit at the Allianz Stadium, even though they have signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

A move for Harry Kane had been touted in media recently, although such a transfer is extremely unlikely to happen this summer as the Lilywhites have no intentions of selling the England captain. The 28-year-old himself is unlikely to want to leave Tottenham despite having pushed hard for an exit last year. Under Antonio Conte, the north London giants have shown a lot of progress, while they have also had an exceptional transfer window so far, making vital additions to the squad in hope of challenging for top honours.

Despite that, rumours continue to link Kane to Bayern Munich, with the Bavarian giants reportedly plotting a move for the England international in the summer of 2023 after ending their pursuit of the striker this year.

And talking about the speculations, Robben said that the England international striker is still under contract at Tottenham and that he is an absolute top striker, but that’s all a dream of the future. Robben also added that Kane is a fantastic forward and one that any manager would love to work with because of his abilities he also urged Bayern Munich to make a move for the Spurs forward this summer.

Kane is undoubtedly one of the best centre-forwards in the game currently. The 28-year-old endured a slow start to the last season after all the uncertainty over his future. However, the Englishman was back to his best towards the end of the campaign with Conte managing to get the striker back firing on all cylinders again.
